GTi - New Plugs and Fresh Oil

It's been roughly 15k miles since I upgraded to RS3 Coils and RS7 plugs and people recommend replacing plugs every 15-20k miles on a tuned GTi. I never quite understood why you'd need to do that so frequently until today when I went to SJF to go and replace them with fresh OEM plugs. You can see the wear on the ground electrode.

This obviously makes the spark less than optimal and the car now runs smoothly again with much better power now that the new plugs are in. Unfortunately, while pulling one of the coils out it came detached from the rubber boot because it sits so tightly once cooled. Thankfully, I still had my old coils around so we were able to transfer the boot over. It seems the trick here is to make sure to pull the coils out while the engine is warm (but not remove the plugs until it's fully cooled).

It's also been about 5000 miles and 6 months since my last oil change so it was a good time to get the oil changed out as well.
